The middle ground.

recently, I meet this friend I havent seen in a long time, and to my surprise, he was religous (a 180-degree change)... So I thought: "great, good for him!"...

To my dismay, I didnt know the whole truth.

He was religous, but he had extremist views. It truly broke my heart when I found out, and I noticed that no matter how hard I tried, he was just too hard-headed. Reflecting on this, Ive noticed that it is an increasin trend in the UAE to not follow the middle ground, but rather be on either extreme. Take the example of local women, its either that they marry the perfect guy: tall, smart, RICHHH, RICHHH, RICHHH, from so- and -so family or tribe.... OR they dont get married... Im not saying thats its their fault they arent getting married, Im just saying thats the way it is... There are stories to the contrary, but verrrry few.

Think about it, you can see it in nearly all aspects of life here in the UAE two extremes but little or no middle ground.

WHAT TO DO IN DXB?!

Awww,,, w7laila the blog, ive ignored it for a while,,,

ma 3leeh ill fix that.

So, todays post (not intellectual):

When youre bored, what do you do in the UAE (as a teen):

-Starbucks / coffee bean / insert name of Cafe here
- Cinema
- Sheesha
- flirting
-chilis/ shu / flavour of the month restaurant

But this is rather typical, and as i disagree with the last three, It most probably seems pretty boring to you, the reader....

But lets explore the (conservatively :-D) wild side:

- Paintball (Dxbs currently sucks, was there 3 days ago, there paint is low quality)

- Diving

- Gyming

- Setting fire to random objects

- Fishing / trying to fish?

,,,, DXB rulz (anyone willing to sign up?)

Ramadan Nights

We have entered in the last 10 days of ramadan, and wish to point out that the respect for this holy month is at an all time low.

Instead of flocking to prayer, people go to shisha tents to play cards. The expats act as if every night out is their last, and the skirt lines are lower and lower.

Even here at university in sharjah (supposedly the more conservative emirate), the sights are appaling...

A little respect 4 this ramadan is what is needed, and what is demanded by the country and our religion...

Just a little food 4 thought...

In case i 4get (spoiler): (HAPPY EID in advance)
