internships,,, my spin

Today I visited the career show in the Republic of Shaja (aka city of Sharjah) looking for a one or two month internship ...

Lame,.,. Every stand had between 5 - 10 girls and 1 - 2 guys... Now the what I want to know is why are there so many people in each stand?

Highly unprofessional.

The guy at Barclays was shocked that my english was better than his, the guy at Finance house didnt know that buying futures is against sharia, and the girl at Dubai Bank was hitting on me and my friend.

Highly unprofessional

Hopefully the one in Dubai is better...

Massive attack - I want you

The one in Dubai is just bigger. Maybe you just experienced what you did because the Sharjah one has far fewer people..

All in all, you know as well as I do that any place that girlies and guys mix, it's inevitable you're going to get hit on!

As far as the unprofessionalism is concerned, well, steal their job and set an example!

The career fairs, wherever they are, are always full of drama! If that happened in Sharjah, what happens in Alain?...

From all I have heard, I'm not so looking forward to going job hunting next year, I will just get so mad and end up doing something I shouldn't do because of all the assumptions people here are so good at making. I just get furious thinking about it! The way I dress outside the house has nothing to do with my personality, at all. It's all about my religion and culture so... -shuts up-

It is not so much a Career Fair anymore but more of a flirt fest... You don't find girls and guys engaging in civilized conversation (which I highly approve of actually)... but silly antics of "fluttering eye lashes" and "giggling".. and the "over-husking" of manly voices... also the serenades and poems are just a tad bit too much...

I am going to be there.. as I am working on the newsletter for the event... but I'm also going to be looking for jobs... Graduating this year and all...

Anyway... I wish you luck... I doubt much will change... You will probably end up being hit on by the same girl from NBD yet again...

Good luck to u!

am not sure if the current information is correct:

I heard from someone that you met this sweet girl in the AUS career fair and tried to hit on her, and went to dubai career fair to meet her again to impress her more (and you did meet her, but not impress)

The following information is not 100% correct, but if its true, shame on u !! ur there to get a job not flirt ! unless your flirting did not involve any bedouin / AD style its legit :p
