Bas they have a point .. u dont want a homeless smelly / dirty person to walk around the mall. But their approach seems to be NO INDIAN NO PAKISTANI whomever they are.
Perhaps it will go further - next it will be no Emiratis, or no Emiratis in kandooras (like some of the restaurants) then no people who earn less than Dhs4,000. Tuesdays only for men with beards, Thursday afternoons for abaya and shayla women. Asians on Friday mornings (when the shops are closed) and white westerneers who don't like to mix with the riff raff can have the rest of the time. This effectively excludes expatriate Arabs and many other ethnic groups - oh yipee we're heading towards Apartheid - what fun!
I banned them ages ago. All I saw on my ONE visit there was a mass of females revealing more than was desired and a gazillion 'lookers'. I did not care for the mall anyway and would be glad to go back to the olden days when we only had Al Ghurair centre. Life in Dubai was oh so sweet way back when.
ok for ibn batuta stuped management, is it the best solution to keep the place clean and HIGH CLASS to ban "low class workers" to enter the mall ??!! this decision might cause unintended consequences like a possible strike coz workers did enjoy weekend!! could happen
the managment could be little bit smarter by making the mall just for families for weekends, btw this mall customers mostly FAMILIES as i noticed or as it is a huge mall restirct the shops and resturants for families and the cinma area general for anybody, anyway i dont see emirates mall crazy freaky ppl attitude so i dont think the family suggestion will cause peoblems as the banning of low class workers !!!!
actully the mall location is weird, next to constructions of huge projects, bas ya 7aram there r people too , they want to hang around like us. msakeen they built the mall and banned from it ((life is fair huh))

that reallly pissed me off.
i dont think i'll be going to ibn battuta anytime soon.
their whole attitude and they way the approached the problem is so wrong and unethical.
