The wind cries

The blood of worshippers is all over the mosque, the screams are unholy and out of place, and the cries,.,. the cries seem to come from the very winds themselves...
that is not the way religion is supposed to work. But that seems to be the result of differences between shia and sunni all over the newspapers nowadays.

My mind darkens upon seeing these things, but then I think of the situation with some of my countrymen and my very soul is darkened. The tolerance for the shia minority here is a strange thing; you dont know whether a shia man will be shunned or embraced by his peers for admitting his beliefs in most circumstances. So what does the average Shia guy do? He keeps quite. The shia should be proud, and hold their heads up high and refuse to hide this fact in their own MUSLIM country,.,. We are all muslims here (btw I am sunni)

The stigma that sunnis hold here, comes from a deep-rooted belief that starts with the grandparents, and I know this for a fact. But I have this to say to every sunni man and woman out there: "see for yourself". Make your own opinions, decide for yourselves rather than just accepting something as true,.,. The hate here must fade away, lest the winds cry for us, as well.

Everyone has the right to believe in what they believe and follow that.

It might be sometimes difficult for me to accept Shia's as Muslims because I believe that their Islam is what I believe in, but the same goes for Sufi's, so I can't judge but I can accept each person for who they are just like I accept Christians and Jewish people.

Maybe if I thought of myself as a Sunni muslim, and then I can say they are Shia muslims, and think of them whatever I think.

On another subject, the parrot (Malsoon) Just opened a box, took out a pack of medicine, opened one, and tried to swallow it. We had a party trying to tell him not to. He is za3lan. :P

Im Sunni too and I've never had a problem with Shia muslims. Its true that I dont agree with some of their beliefs but after all we're muslims and I always try to tolerate the differences.
For a while I didnt know about the problems between Sunnis and Shias... in fact I only knew about it when I entered university. Some of the girls in my university are very intolerant of Shias! they use the word "shee3iyah" as a curse-word or something o_O one time I was in class and my classmate pulled me over and whispered "did you know? flanah is shee3ya" -- and I didnt get why she was so excited to tell me about it. I was like so what?! =s *sigh* allah yehdeehom

Islam is Islam, there is no sunni, shia, sufi, durzey, etc

But of course this day and age you must specify which group you are.. i for one am sunni.

I am strongly strongly against what the shia do. I do not denounce them as muslims but its not the way of ISLAM.

mann it makes me soo upset when i see what they do to themselves. Its soo wrong in soo many ways. Maley nafees to even fast these days.

Allah yehdeehom.

People are different, with different views of life and perception of things. There should be no discrimination what so ever regarding the Shai and Sunni because they are all Muslims. But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. The media has a big effect on this as it only shows the extremists most of the times.

I once met a guy while I was on my Work Placement Experience. A discussion about Sunni and Shai arose when this guy just said flat out “am Shai”. A couple of girls and guys looked at him as if he was a freak, I didn’t even notice *probably because I was busy gazing into his gorgeous eyes :p*. He was so proud. And I admired that about him. I also admired who ever didn’t react to this as If they heard him say he killed someone.

It turned out that he wasn’t Shai after all, but just doing what he did proved me right “there are people out there who know right and don’t discriminate”

Anyway, even you 3lo g said *We are all Muslims here (btw I am Sunni)*, as if you don’t want any one to think you’d be Shai *most likely you didn’t mean it in the way it looked*. Am not saying you’re just like any one else. What am saying is that this idea of Shai people doing ‘u know what’ is burned in our minds for that’s how we were all raised.

The point is to act as good indiscriminative individuals. One day, it’ll be a whole society and community.

3lo g> i dont agree with some of their practices, but it doesn't mean i will treat them any differently. This is what they belive and so I repect that. Every person worships their religion in their own way. They have that right. I just don't agree with some of their practices, as a fellow muslim. You get what i'm saying?

and MJ you should give your parrot some prozac.

Rory, I would be proud to be a Shia, but as i pointed out, sunni are the majority here, and (therefore) I only said I was sunni so as to clarify that I am not with the mainstream thought,.,.

I get you MJ :-)
